SERVING THE LORD AND KEEPING HIS COMMANMENTS

“And now Israel, what doth the Lord thy God require of thee, but to fear the Lord thy God, to walk in all his ways to and to Love him, and to serve the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, to keep the commandments of the Lord, and his statutes which I command thee this day for thy good?”. LOCATING YOUR PURPOSE IN GOD’S KINGDOM

“to everything there is a season,

Atime for every purpose under heaven:” (Eccl. 3:1) (NKJV) Our God is a God of purpose. To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven (Eccl. 3:1). God has a purpose for your life. God chose you having called you out of darkness into His marvelous light (1 Peter 2:9). A man with no expectations as it relates to his life cannot locate his purpose.

PREPARING FOR 2017

As we approach the end of 2016, this calls for a period of self reflection of the outgoing year.  Where we are today in our lives as believers is a function of the choices we made during the year, either in obeying or refusing to obey the word of God.  Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap (Gal. 6:7).

THE KINGDOM PRINCIPLES (1)

Are you aware that the very day you accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour, God, by a spiritual operation, deposited and put inside you a new spirit (Ezek.11:19), to migrate you from the kingdom of darkness into His kingdom? (1 Peter 2:9).  Now that you are a citizen of the kingdom of God, there are certain behavioral patterns and ways associated with the kingdom, which God expects from you.  These patterns are enabled by the new spirit that God has put inside of you, which powers the new life in the kingdom.

THE PEACE THAT COMES FROM THE KINGDOM

We all crave for and desire to have peace of mind.  Peace in our homes, in our marriage, in our place of business, peace all about and around us, but not until we are able to enjoy the peace that comes from the Kingdom, the peace of God which surpasses all understanding (Phil. 4:7), our progress in this life will not only be limited but we will also not be able to enter into His rest (Heb. 4:10).

THE UNITY OF THE SPIRIT

We have been called by God and He has placed us in a position to be the light and salt to our world (Matt. 5:13).  Therefore we must walk worthy of this calling (Eph. 4:1).  We have been chosen by God and placed in a position of honor to affect the nations of this world, and we must walk in this truth and understanding (Ps. 49:20).  To excel in our position of assignment, we must walk with all lowliness and gentleness, with long-suffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit (Eph. 4: 2-3).

I AM STEPPING OUT OF THE UPPER ROOM

The challenges or struggles that we are faced with on a daily basis cannot be compared to the glory that God has packaged for us (Rom. 8:18).  We were not designed to fail; because we are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works (Eph. 2:10).  If we fail, it’s because we refused to submit to the word that had been spoken from creation concerning our life.  For all the promises of God in Him are yea, and in Him Amen, unto the glory of God by us (2 Cor. 1:20).

Satan uses the power of darkness to drag us into darkness, in order to be able to defeat us.   We must not be ignorant, there is something called the power of darkness (Luke 22:53).  In the place of darkness, there is no knowledge and our glory is ineffective, because our prayer is said from a position of darkness.

OFFERING OUR BODIES

Coming to church is not all about what you can get but more about what you can give.  God has given us His all (His Son), and we have been commanded likewise to give ourselves (Rom. 12:1).  This is the true way to worship God.  This is what genuine worship is all about.  God is Spirit, and wants to be worshipped in spirit and in truth (John 4:24).

PROSPERING IN 2017, GOD’S WAY (Part 2)

We are not going to be here forever, although we are in this world but we are not of this world (John 15:19, 17:14 & 17:16), for our citizenship is in heaven (Phil 3:20).  What gives us joy as believers is the fact that Jesus Christ is coming back (John 14:3).  If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the most pitiable (1 Cor. 15:19).  The scripture warns us not to love the world or the things in the world, for to do otherwise, is an indication that the love of the Father is not in us (1 John 2:15).

Kingdom Mandate (Getting past the past)

One of the major realities of life is that change is consistent and all things are subject to time and change. The implication is that one can only ignore change to his detriment. To achieve the ordained purpose of God for our lives therefore, we must learn to submit to what God is doing or saying at each point in time. The Bible tells us in I Corinthians 14:10 that there are many voices (emanating from families, traditions, cultures, etc.) and each voice is saying something significant to take us in a different direction and disconnect us from the purpose and will of God. One of the worst things that can happen to a child of God is to be disconnected from his source (Jesus).
