“Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.”  (Jude 3 (NKJV)

If we are going to fulfill God’s destiny and purpose for our lives, we must become believers indeed.  To succeed in 2018, we must assume the power and authority that God has made available for us as His sons and daughters.

Today, darkness has covered the earth and deep darkness the people (Isa. 60:2) and in order not to be consumed by the darkness all around us, there is no better time to reposition ourselves than now.  There is no better time to change our thinking process (Rom. 12:2) and to engage the mind of Christ (1 Cor. 2:16) than today, because it is those who know their God that shall be strong and do exploits (Dan. 11:32) during this season.

We must contend earnestly for the faith for our victory to be sustained (Jude 3).  We must fight to keep God’s true message safe, because it is those who endure to the end that shall be saved (Matt. 10:22, 24:13 & Mark 13:13).  We fight for the faith by following God’s instructions (Dan. 3:18).  We must pay attention to the word of God (Ps. 119:105).  Our success is dependent on our walking according to the plan and purpose of God for our lives.

If we want to experience sustainable promotion in our lives, we must depend totally on God for promotion (Ps. 75: 6-7), because outside of His word, there is nothing a believer can do.  God is looking for a people who will stand up for righteousness (Gen. 14: 22-23).  He is not looking for church goers but a generation who truly believes in Him.  Those that will seek Him first (Matt. 6:33). We must fight the good fight of faith (1 Tim. 6:12).

Jesus Christ, contended for the faith whenever and wherever darkness surfaced around Him (Matt. 21:12).  He exercised complete authority in all areas of life.  He healed the sick, cleansed the lepers, stilled the storm and walked on water. He completely dominated nature and put Satan to shame.

In 2018, we must not only be determined in our heart to please God, we must also reposition ourselves.  We must work out our salvation with fear and trembling (Phil. 2:12).  We must also begin to exercise the believers’ authority.  We are kings and priests to God (Rev. 1:6), this is who we are.  We are a chosen generation (1 Peter 2:9); we were designed by God to be in charge (Gen. 1:28 & Ps. 8:6).  We are the change agents that the world awaits (Rom. 8:19).
